About mHealth

IT in healthcare became a reality in the 90´s. When the computerization evolved, PDA´s was introduced in the early 2000 to assist the caregivers to perform disease management.

Mobile Technology for Healthcare, or today named mHealth was presented for the first time in 2003 by Bill Gates at their .Net launch in New Orleans. Basically mHealth is disease management with the use of mobile phones.

mHealth services can be used to prevent diseases, patient education, patient monitoring and to individualize care for the chronically ill patient.
